LeBoeuf Little League
October 9, 2008
The LeBoeuf Little League held their monthly meeting at the Waterford Boro Building. Garry Sargent called the meeting to order at 8:10pm.
ATTENDANCE: Darlene Haibach, Randy Amon, Ed Vorpagel, Jeff Kuzma, Brian Mitchell, Steve Krolczyk, Gary Sargent, Brian Webster, Colleen Strain
SECRETARY: The minutes were read, corrections made and Ed Vorpagel motioned to accept, seconded by Brian Mitchell.
TREASURER’S REPORT: Report was read by Darlene Haibach and approved by Randy Amon and seconded by Brian Webster. See attached report.
SPECIAL PROJECTS: Darlene obtained fundraising information from Pulakos-one box of 40 candy bars at a cost of $20 per box-LLL profit would be $20 per box. She received information regarding Hershey’s Fundraising and found LLL would only make $12 per box. A motion was made by Brian Mitchell to continue with Pulakos and was seconded by Randy Amon. LLL received the $5,000 grant from state representative, John Hornaman, to be used for the dugouts.
PICTURE COMMISSIONER: No new updates.
PUBLIC RELATIONS: No new updates.
BASEBALL COMMISSIONER: No new updates.
SOFTBALL COMMISSIONER: Ed stated LLL will need to provide an insurance certificate to be able to utilize the LeBoeuf Gymnasiums for the open gyms. Darlene will obtain the insurance certificate and give to Robin Roberts and the LeBoeuf School District to have on file.
UMPIRE COMMISSIONER: The plate brushes were purchased and will be dispersed in the spring.
TOURNAMENT COMMISSIONER: No new updates.
SCHEDULING COMMISSIONER: No new updates
UNIFORM COMMISSIONER: Garry sent an email to all of the coaches for a last chance to return uniform pants; return needs done by the November meeting for reimbursement.
FIELD MAINTENANCE: Time was donated by Larry Wander to try to hydro seed two fields at the Complex, to be done October 11, 2008. Jeff Kuzma provided information regarding the sand, clay and pond silt mixture and delivery from the "S&S Company" in Pittsburgh. Brian Webster will contact Showman’s to see if they can build up the fields prior dumping any mixture. Waterford Township will clean out the ditches at the Complex.
INSURANCE COMMISSIONER: Paid for the remainder of the year, per Darlene Haibach.
EQUIPMENT COMMISSIONER: Garry will purchase a storage shed form "Waterford Self Storage" for the equipment.
OLD BUSINESS: Steve Krolczyk will remove the field signs October 12, 2008.
NEW BUSINESS: Mike Hering suggested a gift card be given to Greg Roberts for all of his work on the fields; it was agreed to purchase a "Gander Mountain" gift card for $250-Garry will purchase. Steve is working on the new, more professional-looking letterhead. Darlene suggested there needs to be more discussion and approval from board members regarding purchasing anything at all for LLL.
